All from You

Greetings to a new day, you have no clue
things that are ahead; it all comes from you

Peanut butter and jam, breakfast ready!
even these small meals; it all comes from you

Every breath I take, in deep rests or in play
each of my movements; it all comes from you

Because I am made out of miry clay
by almighty one; it all comes from you

I give you praise for you, in every way
find ways to bless me; it all comes from you

Beauties of this world like blossoms in May
Creations will say, "It all comes from you!"

What to do...

I know that it's not good
I'm pretty certain of it
but, I think I like you

I can't help to not think of you
even when I sleep or eat
I know that it's not good

Why can't I focus when I'm near you?
Why can't I seem to relax in my seat?
I think I like you

I waste countless hours while I knew
I've got tons to do. Quit!
I know that it's not good

Till now, I've made excuses that were not true
Now, I've got to admit
that, I think I like you

So I finally withdrew
therefore, I will not limit or make myself quit
I know that it's not good
but, I think I like you

Ode to You

You are strong, powerful like none other

You are sympathetic and so selfless

You are available to help those guys

troubles comin' one after another

You alone are my closest, bestest friend;

my mother, father, why not a teacher?

You are a mentor, counselor to looser

No need to be cool to gain you my God

You, the ultimate One: omni- for all

Praise today and forever; join me y'all

Don't Say Good-bye

I realized many things as the time passed

one of the more important ones being

how much I need and want you beside me

that you're so good, loving of a being

You were always around me, somewhere near

loving, giving, sacrificing and more

but I don't know why I wasn't even

thankful nor fully aware of your love

I was young and reckless, now I see it

I went for something that seemed to look good

I ignored and stepped over your presence;

I was proud and selfish but you were good

I hope it's not too late. Say it's alright

I'm Sorry; would you forgive like always

as you always did, like how you used to

say “no worries” to all of my mistakes

Hope it's not good-bye; hope to see ya soon!

At the End of All

“Hello” “Hi” That is how everyone starts

A relationship: something that excites me

Something that seems easy, but in real deals

hardest thing; life-long task for you and me

I used to be open and welcoming,

wide open for girls and guys to look in

But it was foolish of me, not understanding

what problems I was placing myself in

heart was scratched, cracked, then broken in half so

I had to take time to heal my heart, dying

to smile and be joyful again although

it was never the same as beginning

I hesitate and take twice longer to

think, reach conclusion, but rethink once more

That's just me. How relationship and you

shaped me and changed my heart into a stone

a stone as cold as winter morning air

still able to heat up once placed just right

by another, a hotter stone, that is

willing to warm and love with the troubled

First Love: Precious Like a Gift?

Who and why I wondered when I met you

You were like my Birthday gift carefully untied

like how I shook and tried to look inside

thats how I began getting to know you

slowly untying the ribbons and then

ripping out the fine covers well so that

it won't be ugly; that's how I did it

taking the first step, first love in freshmen

sometimes disappointing, if you don't reach

my expectations; other times scary,

how I see that I may get addicted each

morning, day and evening: just so lovely

I wish that you and I will stay the same:

taking each step with care and love. I hope...

Sonnet Cakes

by Irene C S ClarkHogg

Catch a passing flock of words

Put them in a pan

To make a happy sonnet

For your favourite man.

Add a pinch of rhythm

A spoonful of rhyme

Pop them in the oven

Then wait some time

Check if they are burning

Consult with your muse

About variety in flavours,

In structure, different views.

Jolly sonnet cakes for tea

Some for you and some for me.
