Scream

It was an unusually dark and foggy day. There were no sunlight present and it seemed as if the whole Earth was a cave. Not much people were out of their houses; perhaps, they were afraid that something will happen. I wanted to stay home but I had to go to work. I got out of bed at usual time; 6 in the morning and got ready to go in 30 minutes. I approached the bus station and until then, I did not encounter anyone. It was strange. It seemed as if everyone took a day off without me. I waited for a bus afor about an hour when I was left with no other choice but to talk to work. It was a long way with the fog; I was not able to see where I was going. I was already late and I struggled to see through the clouds what was in front of them. When I finally reached the office, my jaws dropped opened. My eyes widened and I froze for a while until I thoroughly understood what was being said. It was a national holiday: everyone DID take a day off without me!

What makes "good" writing?

A good writing contains clear ideas and voice, sentences that flow with minor or no errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, capitalization and paragraphing. In addition, variety of words to suit different audience is very important. Good writing goes through many stages of writing: prewriting, writing, revising, editing and at last, publishing. As the writing gets revised and edited several times, it will be able to develop good thesis and introduction, body and conclusion. It is crucial that the writing is easy to follow and has a clear voice. If the writing is not organized, the readers will not be able to understand the writer's point. Therefore, following the writing process and keeping the 6 writing traits in mind while writing and organizing your work before publishing is the key to develop a good writing.
